Nordic Sauna and Tasting Ritual

Come to our home on our island and experience an evening where Nordic sauna culture meets flavors from northern Sweden.

Leave Piteå and come out to our island for an evening where warmth, cold, nature and flavors are in focus. We pick you up in central Piteå and take you out to the island. In winter we travel by snowmobile and heated sled over the frozen sea ice, while in summer we take the boat through the Piteå archipelago.

When you arrive, a welcome drink and the first course of the evening await you. Then an experience begins, where the sauna ritual and the food are woven together into a shared journey. With a maximum of four guests, the evening will be personal and relaxed.

 

HEAT, COLD AND NORDIC SAUNA CULTURE

A local guide will lead you through a guided sauna ritual where the contrasts between heat and cold take center stage.

Warm up in the wood-fired sauna, relax in the jacuzzi and then experience the refreshing contrast of the cold water. In winter, an ice bath awaits, while in summer you can cool off with a dip directly in the sea. There is no stress and no time to keep track of.

You sauna, cool off, eat, talk, enjoy yourself and let the evening take the time it needs.

A SENSORY JOURNEY THROUGH NORTHERN SWEDEN

While the sauna ritual is in progress, our local chef, Linnéa, works on the evening's nine-course tasting menu over an open fire. Here, local ingredients and flavors from northern Sweden take center stage. The menu follows the seasons and the ingredients that are available, making each evening a little different. The dishes are not served as a separate dinner that interrupts the sauna experience, but are woven into the ritual, with smaller dishes served during different parts of the evening.

It creates a journey of the senses, from heat and cold to fire, sea, scents and flavors.

ONE ISLAND – TWO SEASONS

The experience changes with the season, and the journey out to the island itself is part of the ritual.

 

 

WINTER

When the sea has frozen over, we take the snowmobile out of Piteå and travel across the frozen sea ice towards the island. While the snow covers the archipelago and the world around us is white and still, the journey out to the island itself is an experience in itself. Once there, a wood-fired sauna, jacuzzi and a refreshing polar plunge await.

During clear winter evenings, there is also the possibility to experience the Northern Lights from the island.

 

 

SUMMER

During the summer we instead take the boat out through the Piteå archipelago. The sea is open, the islands are green and the archipelago takes on a completely different expression.

After the sauna, you can cool off with a dip directly in the sea, before heading back into the warmth of the sauna. During the bright summer nights, there is the opportunity to experience the midnight sun and the special feeling that evening never really becomes night.
